Where to Find Handmade Jewelry in Los Angeles [2019]

LA's One-Of-A-Kind Jewelry Stockists

This list is by no means definitive (and I plan to update it often), but the purpose is to acknowledge jewelry stores supporting local, independent jewelers and artisans throughout Los Angeles. For many of us, fine jewelry is a major investment; so whether you are seeking a custom engagement ring, a gift, or a future heirloom, there is so much value in knowing that you are purchasing something truly unique that will carry sentimental value from one generation to the next.

Unique Jewelry Designs

Handmade in Los Angeles

1) Accents Jewelry (Santa Monica)

Accents is a wonderful choice for finding unique treasures crafted by skilled jewelers. They offer one-of-a-kind designs from artists like Tyson Miller, whose geometric shapes are amazingly precise (and the polar opposite of my “imperfectionist” approach). Accents even offers lessons in the lost wax carving technique, where you can learn the craft under expert designer/owner, Steven Hanna. Hanna’s own line of fine jewelry utilizes natural contours that are elegant and luxurious.

2) Esqueleto (Echo Park)

Esqueleto’s showroom is gorgeous, offering a large variety of handcrafted goods from many local artisans. Owner and designer, Lauren Wolf, has curated a space that embraces the community, with a business model focused on nearby talent and ethically-sourced materials. There are so many great creators to choose from at Esqueleto, a personal favorite being Communion by Joy Smith. Joy is a fellow designer using the lost wax method, who brings a spiritual element to her work.

3) Love Adorned (Santa Monica)

Love Adorned contains a wonderfully eclectic display of jewelry. Owner Lori Leven showcases everything from minimalist to opulent, and you’ll undoubtedly find plenty of colorful gemstones and unusual diamonds (a lovely alternative for the non-traditional bride). I even picked out my Polly Wales Empress Ruby engagement ring from Love Adorned.

Additionally, Leven sources fine vintage jewelry with artistic designs. For those with a particular vision in mind, Love Adorned also offers bespoke services.

4) Roseark (West Hollywood)

Definitely on the pricier end, but don’t let that stop you from following @Roseark for the most unique ring stacks. Their Instagram feed is always inspiring, if not a little addicting. I credit Roseark for introducing me to new designers like Christina Magdolna. Christina’s handcrafted designs can be organic and minimalist, but she has a lovely way of accentuating the unique diamonds she chooses. Roseark is seriously rad for all types of jewelry, but the earrings in particular are stunning. A visit to their Yelp page will quickly convey the “wow” factor shoppers feel from this high-end boutique.

5) Love Audry Rose (Santa Monica)

You may as well spend the entire day on Main St. at this point. Seriously though, there is no shortage of artistic jewelry designers at Audry Rose. This adorable shop is clearly focused on handcrafted jewelry, much of it local to LA. Impressive local artists such as Jennie Kwon and Sirciam are just a couple of standouts among many talented individuals.

6) Moona Star (Topanga)

Moona Star offers an ethical shopping experience, made even cooler by the authentic representation of the free-spirited town of Topanga. Take part in a moon alchemy ceremony, or sign up for a broom-making workshop. The focus of founder and designer Monica Zaidman is unquestionably sustainable fashion and humans’ impact on the natural world. She supports local makers like Victoria Keen, who uses natural plant dye when making her amazing textiles. Or browse beautifully handcrafted jewelry from AVILLA. Moona Star is a conscious consumer’s dream store.
